Varun Nanda recently became President of Sumbhav Consulting, a company offering strategic plans and advice for health care, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and diagnostic businesses. Moving northeast to Piscataway Township, New Jersey, Varun Nanda became the Product Manager at Enzon Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where he helped the revenue grow more than 100% for 3 consecutive years. This aggressively rapid growth brought Enzon to the 56th rank on Inc. Magazine’s list of the 100 fastest-growing small public companies in 1993. Varun Nanda then joined pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk A/S, where he established strategies and plans for the company’s insulin delivery systems, hemophilia drugs, growth hormones, and a half-dozen hormone replacement therapy products. Crossing the United States, Varun Nanda found himself at Genentech, Inc., in San Francisco, California, serving as Vice President for the Avastin brand’s Sales and Marketing department, then earning his way into the role of Senior Vice President and Global Head of Oncology. In Seattle, Nanda signed on as the Senior Vice President of Global Commercial Operations for Dendreon Corporation, launching the prostate cancer treatment Provenge in the United States and preparing for its debut in Europe.
